What makes a website successful
These days a website is one of the main marketing tools a business has, so it needs to be professionally built, stand out through its design, and feel modern and well-kept. Don’t forget that your website represents your company.
So a successful website has to meet the following requirements:
- It should reflect your company’s goals and values, and work in your favour – attracting visitors, sparking interest in your company, services or products, and prompting them to take certain actions on the site: offering the option to fill in a contact form, answering questions, helping them reach a company representative, buying products, and so on.
- It should convey what makes you distinctive and the advantages that would make visitors choose your company. A well-built (successful) site should meet the client’s expectations, provide all the information they need and convince them that your products or services are worth choosing.
- It should radiate quality and inspire client trust that holds up no matter which page of the site a visitor lands on.
- A website should be simple to use and free of confusion, letting visitors find the information, product or anything else they need quickly – in just a few clicks.
- A website needs its on-page SEO in order, be accessible to search engine crawlers, drop any Flash technology (no longer shown in most browsers, especially on mobile devices!), give every page a unique title, display meta descriptions, and include the keywords that matter to you in its text – the terms search engines use to index your website – along with many other criteria.
- It should be kept up to date. A website whose latest news was posted a year ago certainly won’t inspire visitor trust.
